Blogging in Shadows

I had a very good reading last night at Sh!  After rushing to get there on time, I realised that I was quite early.  Luckily there were stray erotic writers cluttering up the nearby bar.  I enjoyed their company, and met several writers whose work I’ve enjoyed for years.

Back at Sh! I enjoyed some of the vegan cupcakes I’d brought from MsCupcake.  And then I remembered that I probably shouldn’t be stuffing my face right before a reading.  I discreetly nibbled instead.  A few of my friends had turned up which was really nice, including Suraya from Filament Magazine.  There were also others who had come straight from Pride.  Rachel Kramer Bussel arrived with more cakes to add to the groaning cake stand.  I instantly became super-nervous, which was strange as I’d been feeling quite relaxed before, but Rachel was friendly and sparkly.  It was so good to finally meet her.

I read my bisexual story, set partly at the Pembury Tavern, and as a result, I think they may get a few new visitors…  The rest of the evening involved having a floral crop tried out on my bum, many photos, lots of hugs and yet more cake.
